George Wambugu Leads in KenyaTrak Poll Ahead of Ol Kalou By-Election
A new opinion poll by KenyaTrak has placed George Wambugu Delight at the top in the race for the upcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election in Nyandarua County, signaling a highly competitive contest among key candidates.
According to the poll results, Wambugu commands 24.6 percent of voter support, narrowly edging out Kamau Ngotho, who follows closely with 23.0 percent. The slim margin between the two frontrunners points to a tight race that could shift as campaigns intensify and party politics take centre stage.
Coming in third is Peter Mugo with 16.8 percent, while Paul Kiragu Wathuta ranks fourth at 16.4 percent, indicating a strong second tier of candidates still within striking distance of the lead.
Other candidates trail behind, including Paul Waiganjo at 6.3 percent, and Nyokabi Kamau with 4.4 percent, reflecting a fragmented lower tier that could nonetheless play a role in influencing the final outcome.
Analysts note that while Wambugu currently leads, the race remains fluid. With a significant portion of voters still undecided, candidates will need to ramp up grassroots mobilization and sharpen their campaign messages to secure victory.
The KenyaTrak poll suggests that even minor shifts in voter preference could alter the standings, especially between the top two contenders. As the by-election approaches, all eyes will be on Ol Kalou constituency, where a closely fought battle is shaping up to define the political landscape in Nyandarua County.
