Iranian Ambassador Condemns Alleged Military Attack, Announces Death of Supreme Leader

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kenya Dr Ali Gholarmpour has strongly condemned what he described as a coordinated military attack against Iran, alleging that strikes carried out by the United States and Israel resulted in significant destruction and the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Speaking during a press briefing in Nairobi, the ambassador termed the incident a “grave act of aggression” and a violation of international law, saying the attacks occurred in the early hours of Saturday during the holy month of Ramadan and just days before the Persian New Year, Nowruz.
According to the envoy, missiles and warplanes targeted defensive infrastructure as well as non-military facilities. undermined Iran’s territorial integrity and threatened global peace and security.
“With deep sorrow, I inform you that our Supreme Leader has lost his life following these events,” the ambassador told journalists, describing the development as a moment of profound national mourning for the Iranian people.
He accused the attackers of attempting to weaken Iran by targeting its leadership but maintained that the country would remain united despite the loss.
The ambassador further called on the international community and the United Nations to intervene and conduct an independent investigation into the alleged attack, urging global actors to uphold international law and respect national sovereignty.
He noted that the timing of the strikes during Ramadan — a period observed by Muslims worldwide as a time of prayer and reflection — had intensified grief among Iranians.
The envoy also expressed appreciation to the Government and people of Kenya for what he described as continued friendship and respect toward Iran during the difficult period.
As of the time of publication, there was no immediate response from the United States or Israel regarding the allegations made during the press briefing.
The reported developments, if independently confirmed, could significantly heighten tensions in the Middle East and raise concerns over regional and global security.
