Kiambaa Learners Enjoy Free day Schooling Under Masomo kwa Wote Programme
Parents in Kiambaa constituency Kiambu county will no longer pay school fees following the rollout of the Masomo kwa Wote programme launched by area MP Hon. Kawanjiku in 2025.
Under the initiative, school fees have been fully waived, with parents only required to contribute Sh20 per day to cater for learners’ meals. All other costs are covered through the bursary scheme and the Kawanjiku Kiambaa Masomo kwa Wote programme.
The move has come as a major relief to parents who were paying Sh2,000 per term over the past year, easing the financial burden on families and helping keep children in school.
Education stakeholders have welcomed the programme, saying it will improve school attendance and enhance access to education across Kiambaa of which other members of Parliament have embraced and copied the program from Kawanjiku.
The Masomo kwa Wote initiative is part of broader efforts to promote inclusive education and support learners from vulnerable households
