Roysambu Residents Launch Signature Drive to Push for busy Kamiti Road Expansion

A section of residents from Roysambu Constituency has launched a signature collection drive urging the Ministry of Roads and Transport to expand Kamiti Road from Roysambu Roundabout to Kamiti Maximum Prison.

Speaking during the exercise, community opinion leader Munene Thuku said the residents have so far collected 6,000 signatures, with a target of 10,000 before submitting the petition to the ministry.

Mr. Thuku noted that the proposed 5 to 6-kilometre road expansion will significantly ease traffic congestion in the densely populated areas of Mirena, Zimmerman, Githurai 44, Maziwa, and Kahawa West.

He added that the residents are optimistic the government will prioritize the project, saying it will not only improve mobility but also boost economic activity and accessibility in the fast-growing neighborhoods.
