Mp Gakuya Takes Lead on Nairobi Gubernatorial ranking
According to the latest poll results conducted and released by Compass polls, if elections were held today, James Gakuya would emerge victorious with 45% of the vote, followed by Babu Owino at 30%, Johnson Sakaja at 13%, Agnes Kagure at 6%, and Irungu Nyakera at 4%, while 2% of respondents remain undecided on the Nairobi County gubernatorial race.
The survey attributes Gakuya’s popularity to his strong media presence, steadfast leadership, and his position as a champion of hustlers welfare. He is also recognized for his relentless criticism of over-taxation and his close alignment with Gen Z sentiments.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino ranked second, credited for his education bursary programs and being vocal on issues affecting Nairobi residents.
Meanwhile, Governor Johnson Sakaja popularity declines with a remarkable margin, with respondents citing concerns over corruption, discrimination, incompetence, absenteeism, and the eviction of hawkers as key factors affecting his rating.
The poll reflects a shifting political landscape in Nairobi as residents express their views ahead of the next gubernatorial election and better city.
