Kenyans Take to Social Media to Eulogize Gospel Artist Betty Bayo

Kenyans have taken to various social media platforms to mourn and celebrate the life of renowned gospel artist Betty Bayo, who passed away.

Messages of condolence and tributes have poured in from fans, fellow musicians, church leaders, and public figures, all describing Bayo as a talented, humble, and inspirational figure whose music touched many hearts.

Bayo, known for her popular hits such as “Elewa Mungu” Eleventh hour and “Sinzia,” had been a key voice in Kenya’s gospel music scene for over a decade. Many of her songs carried powerful messages of faith, perseverance, and hope — themes that resonated deeply with her audience.

“Betty Bayo’s music helped many of us through tough times. Her faith was real, her ministry was pure,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Gospel artists including Size 8, Guardian Angel, and Mercy Masika also paid tribute, describing her as a “pillar of the gospel industry” and “a woman who used her talent to serve God and inspire a generation.”

Church groups across the country have shared clips of her live performances, while fans have organized online vigils to honor her memory.

Details about her burial and memorial service are expected to be announced by her family in the coming days.
