Hon. John Kiarie Elected Global President of World Scout Parliamentary Union

Dagoretti South MP Hon. John Kiarie has been elected the Global President of the World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU) during the organization’s 11th General Assembly held at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Kiarie pledged to advance the Assembly’s resolutions on Sustainable Development Goals, the Creative Economy, and Climate Action, saying scouts must take an active role in shaping global progress.

“The world is going through great change, but there is space for us scouts to make our mark and make it better,” he said.

He called on leaders to promote critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and patriotism, noting these values are essential in addressing global challenges such as femicide and social unrest.

Hon. Kiarie also expressed optimism about Africa’s growing leadership, vowing to expand WSPU’s reach globally.

“It’s time for Africa to take the mantle,” he declared, promising to lead with unity and commitment.
