100Years transformation of magnificent Jamia Mosque
The Jamia Mosque Committee has launched a special photo memory exhibition to commemorate 100 years of the mosque’s remarkable and transformative journey at the heart of Nairobi city center.
Speaking during the event, Secretary General Abdul Bary Hamid said the exhibition celebrates the mosque’s enduring legacy and its immense contribution to religious education, social welfare, mentorship, and spiritual guidance over the past century.
“For a hundred years, Jamia Mosque has stood as a symbol of faith, unity, and community service — nurturing generations through its programs and initiatives,” Hamid remarked.
The centenary exhibition forms part of a series of activities planned to mark the milestone, reflecting on the mosque’s pivotal role in shaping the moral and social fabric of society.
Addressing members of the media, the committee also unveiled a visionary plan to construct a modern, magnificent mosque complex featuring an underground parking area with over 400 slots, an education facility, a multipurpose hall, and other modern amenities aimed at serving the growing needs of the faithful and the wider community.
